Angel from Lebanon
Painting digitally is incredibly time consuming and requires A LOT of patience. Patience has never really been my strength, but I realized one day that if I was going to make imagery worth looking at I needed to grow up and force myself to concentrate more on what I am working on. My biggest problem was (and to a certain point still is) that I have a lot of ideas, but no patience and therefore I never get to finish one painting before starting on another. As a result of that I still have a folder full of unfinished pieces that I probably never will work on again.
BUT!
I decided to change. And I actually did. The artwork of the Angel of Lebanon was the first digital piece I managed to finish properly though painting the feathers felt like a pain that would never end. And that feeling is actually quite common because the artist spend so much time working on a piece that it becomes sickening in the end and we can´t really see how beautiful it may look to others. In total I spent about 15 hours painting the Angel and it took me many weeks after that to be able to appreciate it and look at it proudly. I crossed a line with that painting, I learned that I was able to maintain focus in a way I never had before. Today it is one of my favourite pieces:)
